Pia Mia has dropped her new single Princess today, and we’re low-key obsessed. To accompany the single, Pia has collaborated with Sophie Katirai to create a collection of bespoke IG filters which are giving us *major* Princess vibes.
Pia describes the track as “powerful, confident and sexy,” and it samples Chris Brown’s ‘Kiss Kiss’, which was the inspo behind the track.
Pia Mia teamed up with the OG queen of filters Dubai-based Sophie Katirai to collaborate after she reached out to Sophie on Instagram. Much like the Kar-Jenners and Hadid sisters, Pia is a long-time fan of Sophie’s filters and has often used them on her snaps.
A product of lockdown digital innovation, the music vid was created on FaceTime and Sophie and Pia met up via Zoom to discuss the vision for the filters. Pia wanted to them to feel “beautiful, rich and girly”, and they deffo fit that bill.
“It was really exciting to work with Pia on making her vision a reality”, says Sophie, “People listen to music while trying on filters all the time so to introduce a new song using filters is a great idea and so much fun to work with”.
The first filter, Princess I is now live on Pia Mia’s IG with exciting news of three more incoming filters. Our selfie-game is eagerly watching Pia’s social for Princess II and Sophie’s IG for Princess III and IV!
