The Brits 2020 Awards took place last night and featured some insanely talented performances by Lewis Capaldi, Dave, Mabel and none other than Billie Eilish.
The 18 year old singer-songwriter and brother Finneas have had a busy 2020 so far, what with winning five Grammys, singing at the Oscars 2020, and even releasing a new song for the new James Bond movie, No Time to Die.
She was introduced by Jack Whitehall as “the only teenager in the world who makes Greta Thunberg look lazy,” at the 2020 Brits Awards before giving an impressive performance. I mean…she really is the Queen of vocals, so we expect no less.
Billie was accompanied on stage by Hans Zimmer, Johnny Marr, and her brother-collaborator, Finneas.
To add to her shelf of trophies, Billie also won the show’s coveted Best International Female Solo Artist award. During her acceptance speech, where she may have shedded a tear or two, she opened up about “feeling very hated recently,” but the support of her UK fans “genuinely made her want to cry” (we’re talking happy tears.)
Prior to the awards show, she spoke on air in an interview with BBC Breakfast about how the internet was “ruining her life” because of all the negative comments. She added that: “it’s way worse than it’s ever been. It’s insane that I’ve been reading comments up until this point. I should have stopped long ago.”
Ignoring the irrelevant internet trolls, press play on Billie’s incredible Brits 2020 performance here:
