If you’re a girl gamer looking to one-up your e-sports career then hey! Hi! We’ve got some *exciting* news for you…
Miss Esports, which is the brainchild of Lenovo and Power League Gaming, is a brand-new platform designed to provide girl gamers with a safe and empowering community of like-minded e-sports players, and to eliminate the gap between genders and illuminate the fact that a gamer is a gamer. It launched at the beginning of 2020 (where you may have recognised Cosmo’s fave Mary Gaming), and following the success of the platform, there are now a whole host of new ambassadors and mentors from all across the Middle East.
From Meshael to Ranad, professional female e-sports players will offer mentorships to budding gamers, where they will share insider info about all gaming-related topics, from streaming, and content creation, which will help the next generation of girl gamers achieve their professional goals in the industry.
Miss Esports will become a hub for local talent across the Middle East and North Africa, and will teach girl gamers the necessary skills and tools to become hosts of gaming shows, tournaments, commentators and more, so you can take your gaming career to the next level.
“It’s crucial to ensure we’re creating inclusive environments, and this is something which has always been very close to our hearts at Lenovo,” says Claire Carter, the brand’s marketing director for MENA. “Miss Esports represents an evolution in our continued efforts to celebrate all gamers – in this instance, creating a safe and positive community in which we can nurture female talent. Our ultimate goal is to not require differentiating between male and female gamers in the future, but rather, having a shared platform where all gamers can compete and have access to the top gaming influencers. We have highly talented female gamers across the Middle East and Africa who are as “savage” as their male counterparts and at Lenovo, we want to help unleash their “Stylish Outside, Savage Inside” personas to inspire even more women to game!”
