The South Korean band BTS has pretty much got the entire universe hooked to its music. Whether you’ve attended one of their many sold-out shows or are a new joiner (welcome to our not-so-lil ARMY) and patiently waiting for your city to hit BTS’ touring list, well you *must* know that they’ve low-key teased an upcoming worldwide tour.
While we’re glued to our screens for an official announcement, here’s a complete rundown about everything you need to know about the BTS members:
Jin – Kim Seokjin
Being the oldest of the group, the 29-year-old Jin has been a part of the group since June 2013. Kim ticked off his first solo track “Tonight” in 2019 and also did a collab with his fellow BTS member V for the song “It’s Definitely You“. He likes to introduce himself as ‘worldwide handsome’ and TBH, where’s the lie?
Suga – Min Yoongi
Rapper Suga began his music career at the age of 13 and worked part-time at a recording studio when he was 17. He’s often caught working super late in recording studios (and practically falling asleep there too.) He goes by the name Agust D for his solo projects with one of his mixtapes charting to #11, becoming the highest-charting album by a solo Korean artist in the US.
J-Hope – Jung Hoseok
He released his debut solo album ‘Hope World‘ in 2018, making him the third of the BTS members to release a solo album. He also did a collab with Becky G for the single “Chicken Noodle Soup“. Also, there’s a special place in heaven for J-Hope’s dance routines.
RM – Kim Namjoon
RM is pretty much the leader of the BTS members. Believe it or not, he learned English by watching Friends and has an IQ of 148.
Jimin – Park Jimin
Star dancer Jimin studied contemporary dance at the Busan High School of Arts and was later told to audition for Big Hit Entertainment. He released three solo songs “Lie“, “Serendipity“, and “Filter” and has also worked on many other projects as a solo artist.
V – Kim Taehyung
Yup, he met Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae. Here’s a collab that we didn’t know we needed. Apart from giving us all the dreamy fashion inspo, the 26-year-old also made an appearance in the K-drama Hwarang: The Beginning.
“The fans gave us the wings that allow us to be where we are,” V said. “That’s why we have that special relationship.” BRB, crying.
Jungkook – Jeon Jung-kook
Being the youngest of all the BTS members, he made his debut with the single “2 Cool 4 Skool” at the age of 15. He considers Justin Bieber, JT, and Usher as his musical inspirations.
A lil fun fact that no one asked for: Jungkook’s stage name was initially going to be “seagull”.
