Iconic Korean boy band BTS has just hit another milestone at the 2021 American Music Awards. The annual entertainment event took place last night and some of this year’s most-loved artists attended in their best-dressed, I mean, Olivia Rodrigo’s dress though…
But one of the main showstoppers of the night (other than BTS performing their smooth hit single ‘Butter‘) is the seven-member band winning “Artist of the Year.”
Not only is this award one of the *biggest* honours of the night in AMA history, but BTS are the first Asian act *ever* to receive this award. Congratulations to the amazing band and BTS Army!
The 2021 American Music Awards was definitely one to remember. FYI – BTS was up against acts like Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Drake, and Olivia Rodrigo. So it’s no overreaction that this is. a. huge. deal.
If you didn’t already think that this win was already impressive enough, BTS also took home Favorite Pop Duo or Group for a third consecutive year.
During their speech, Jungkook shared, βwe just wanted to make people happy with our music. We believe that this award opens the beginning of our new chapter. In the past few years, we learned that each and every moment is precious.”
V continued with βIβm deeply touched by this award. I appreciate your love. Thank you ARMY, thank AMAs. Thank you, we purple you!β
