Famous South Korean K-Pop band, BTS, and their entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment, donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter - joining in the fight against systematic racism and protesting police brutality.

People all over the world are coming together to speak out against the recent racist and on-going events taking place in the U.S, a handful of companies and celebrities have been donating to causes to aid BLM - other than signing significant petitions or attending the protests themselves.

The managing director of Black Lives Matter, Kailee Scales confirmed receipt of the donation, reporting to Variety that "black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression. We are moved by the generosity of BTS and allies all over the world who stand in solidarity in the fight for Black lives.”

BTS even took to Twitter a couple of days ago to speak out and express solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Their huge and dedicated fandom have even raised $50,000 (approximately Dhs183,643) to do their part as well. The BTS Army have created a #MatchAMillion hashtag as a part of their initiative to match the K-Pop band's donation. Click here to donate as well!

Another artist who contributed an extremely generous amount to BLM is The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye.

Not only did he donate Dhs367,285 to Black Lives Matter, but he also called out music industry partners to step up and do their part.
