Our former Cosmo ME cover star, entrepreneur, and influencer Natalie Sallaum is off to a new accomplishment and it’s her recent appointment as head of global sustainability at Sallaum Lines. The transportation company is known for providing global RoRo cargo shipping services and ranked as the 10th largest vehicle carrier in the world.

With Sallaum entering the corporate family biz, she’s working on making the business more sustainable with new eco-friendly initiatives en route.

Keeping sustainability at the forefront

“The main goal is to move towards a sustainable future by achieving 0 emissions by 2050,” said Sallaum. “Through Sallaum Humanity Foundation, Sallaum Lines gives back to the community by helping provide basic human needs and protecting the environment.”

Our girl is working on hitting new milestones with the new job role. She said, “My aim is to continuously work on the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and focus on the core principles: the economy, society, and the environment. I am very grateful to be able to join the family business and hopefully be an added value.”

Multi-tasking like a pro

Working on the corporate grind is hard enough but handling two jobs i.e her beauty brand and head of global sustainability plus her education is a whole other ball game. Natalie is working on taking up her master’s in Leadership and Sustainability while continuing her courses on shipping management and logistics courses.

“Studying and working full time may seem overwhelming, but as long as I am doing something I love, I do it wholeheartedly,” said Natalie. “By doing that, I am able to learn and implement real-life strategies into the shipping business. Time management is very important, and by setting my priorities and allocating time for each and every activity, I am able to succeed.” You go girl, we’re rooting for you.

In terms of handling her brand full-time, she’s got it all planned out with a schedule in place. “Natalie Beauty will always be something I am passionate about and by creating an amazing team, I am able to manage everything at once,” she continued. “Natalie Beauty is up and running and my role is to come out with new formulas and approve tasks on a daily basis. I set a time for Natalie Beauty throughout the day with weekly briefing meetings with the team so I am up to date with the operations.”

Exciting news for Natalie Beauty in 3,2,1…

Well, guys, clean and vegan-friendly brand Natalie Beauty is working on taking it a step further with new sustainability initiatives coming your way. Are we ready or are we ready?

“Natalie Beauty is a completely separate entity, yet my knowledge in sustainability is growing as I started with Sallaum Lines and I am definitely working on making Natalie Beauty a more sustainable business. In the end, sustainability is a core principle in any business, whether in cosmetics or shipping.”

Natalie Sallaum means business

And, she’s pretty much understood and nailed the assignment. Sallaum Lines is working on hitting target goals which include the IMO (International Maritime Organization) set goal of reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

“We have passed the planning stage and are starting to implement sustainable strategies that include environmental, social, economic, and governance. We closely follow the UN Sustainable Development Goals and are working on our waste management, energy conservation, and retrofitting our vessels with new technologies for improved overall environmental footprint,” Natalie said.

She continued, “By continuously pushing for a sustainable future, it is our duty to work on the environmental and social issues faced today. Real change demands a social movement and starts with educating ourselves and taking responsibility, one person at a time.”

We’re just gonna be here cheering for our former cover star and wish her all the best. No doubt in our mind that she’ll be acing it for sure.
