Love is Blind season 5 has been a tad bit messy if we’re being completely honest, but we think that’s what makes it so real and relatable. As we find almost all of the couples in complex situations, here’s a quick recap on how they got into the mess and who made it out of it this season.
Love is Blind season 5: Where are they now?
Aaliyah and Uche
Speaking of messy situations, what’s messier than finding out your ex is on the same show as you? Love is Blind season 5 especially. While Aaliyah and Uche seemed to connect immediately during the first few episodes of the season, in comes the biggest plot twist – Uche’s ex Lydia is also on the show and happens to be Aaliyah’s bff. Planned much?
Aaliyah also revealed that she had cheated on one of her boyfriends and continued dating him for 3 months after that without telling him until he broke up with her.
While Uche was ready to propose to Aaliyah, he was informed by the producers that she had left the experiment and gone back home after having a talk with Lydia about her whole situation with Uche. We saw Aaliyah’s return to the show in its most recent episodes, but we unfortunately do not see her back with Uche as he claims to be “extremely hurt” over the fact that she decided to leave the show.
The couple reportedly tried to date outside of the show, but eventually realised that they were just not right for each other.
Lydia and Milton
Lydia and Milton have had a bit of a ~rocky~ patch, but their connection seems to be quite strong in spite of their large age gap. While Milton seemed pretty okay with the fact that Lydia and Uche had a past connection, we’re not quite sure if Lydia is ready to let go of Uche completely. Milton did, however, express that he thought Lydia was controlling (deciding the colour of his shorts).

Their relationship becomes interesting when Uche has a talk with Milton about his past experience with Lydia. He also tries to convince Milton that Lydia only joined the show because she knew he was going to be on it.
Milton points out that Lydia is very emotional and lets that get the best of her at times. In the most recent episodes of Love is Blind Season 5, Lydia meets with Milton’s family and they do not seem to be supportive of this relationship with their major concern being the age gap.
Lydia and Milton’s final date takes a dramatic turn when the couple get into an argument. They continue to hash it all out until both of them cool down eventually and Lydia says “we got this right.” Well, all’s well that ends well I guess…
Obviously, this couple was one of the two couples that made it to the altar this season. In spite of all of the drama that unfolded during the show, Lydia and Milton had their happy ending!
“We had our ups, we had our downs and the communication maturity that you showed, I knew you were the one. I never had a doubt about you and I hope it continues to be like that forever,” Milton expressed in his vows.
Izzy and Stacy
Izzy did have a couple of connections on Love is Blind Season 5 before Stacy and seemed to be confused between Johnie and Stacy, but after a tense conversation, Izzy made up his mind to take things further with Stacy. The couple decides to get out of the pods and meet each others’ families and while you might think that this relationship is going great, this is where the drama begins.
Izzy and Stacy have conflicting opinions about money. While Stacy claims that Izzy is living the bachelor life (eating out of paper plates, having a box full of jewellery items from his past women), she wants a bit more stability in life (as she should?).
Stacy’s dad is also seen talking to Izzy about how love is blind but sometimes love also needs other things such as stability, a roof, a vacation, and maybeee reusable plates?
However, in the most recent episodes of Love is Blind Season 5, the couple goes on one final date before the wedding which is an airplane ride and a private dinner (how adorable). But this does not mean that they managed to sort out their issues regarding money. In the trailer for the next and final episodes of the season, we do see the couple in their wedding outfits before their wedding but sadly, they seem quite unhappy.
The couple certainly did make it to the altar but unfortunately failed to say ‘I do”. While Izzy was ready to tie the knot with Stacy, she wasn’t as sure. Izzy expressed that she thought the two of them need more time before this big step, “I do want you, and I wanna say yes,” she said at the altar, “but I would be doing you and I a disservice right now to say that ‘I do’ when I feel like there’s a lot things we need — and, more than anything, we need time.”

JP and Taylor
While JP and Taylor seemed to be the *perfect* match in the pods, their situation face to face was a bit too awkward. It was certain that Taylor was not attracted to JP as much as he was to her as soon as we saw the couple interact outside the pods, but what came as a surprise was JP’s comment about Taylor’s makeup making her look fake. In a confessional interview, Taylor also admitted that the gap between JP’s teeth bothered her quite a lot.
Taylor and JP will sadly not make it to the altar as Taylor expressed that JP was a totally different person out of the pods and that is not the person she fell in love with.
Love is Blind season 5 definitely has all of us on the hook. The last and final two episodes of this season are set to air on October 13th to finally answer all our questions about what will happen to our favourite couples this season.
