While we're all currently in quarantine, minding our own business and brushing up on our baking skills, whilst celebs are still getting sued over pictures - that they posted years ago! Yikes. According to E! News, Jennifer Lopez is being sued for posting a photo to Instagram without the photographer's permission.
The photographer in question, Steven Sands, is accusing her and her production company Nuyorican Productions for copyright infringement and is seeking Dhs550,961 for damages. Apparently, the image was posted on Instagram back in 2017, and it gainied over 656,000 likes. JLo was dressed as her Shades of Blue character Harlee, a mystery TV Show that aired for 3 years.
The lawyer who filed the lawsuit told E! News that "this is an example of celebrities using photographers photographs without permission to brand themselves on social media. The number of likes the photograph receives coupled with their number of social media followers is a tool to commercialize their posts."
This isn't the first time that Jenny-from-the-block has been sued over posting photo's without credit either. She was also sued for thousands for posting a pic on her Instagram Story of her and her man, Alex Rodriguez, holding hands back in 2017.
Yup, that's a lot of zeroes.
