If you’re looking to have a little fun this Wednesday during the full moon, Zero Gravity is the place to be. They’re hosting a Vinyasa flow yoga session to help balance your energy just in time for the weekend, under the light of the full moon. The first-ever hologram event for Abdel Halim Hafez at Dubai Opera
For the first time ever, the Dubai Opera will hold a hologram event. Late Egyptian singer (and idol,) Abdel Halim Hafez will take to the stage on 13 and 14 May during Dubai’s Eid Al Fitr festivities. This is a once in a lifetime chance that you won’t want to miss out on. Click here for more info.
Dubai Comedy Festival
The Dubai Comedy Festival is *finally* back and they’re ready to knock your socks off! Gad Elmaleh, Alexander Revva and Mikhail Galustyan will be the reason behind your bangs of laughter this month as they take the stage at the Dubai Opera. Gad Elmaleh is no stranger to the crowd and is returning by popular demand the 16th and 17th of May after having sold out several performances at the Dubai Opera previously! Russian duo Alexander Revva AND Mikhail Galustyan will perform on 18 May with a brand new set for the crowd. Tickets can be booked online at the Dubai Opera website.
Yoga for a cause
INSPIRE Studio are hosting yoga classes in hopes of helping animals in need! Wondering what’s the correlation? All the money raised from the pay-what-you-can classes will be put towards neutering homeless animals in the UAE, thanks to the non-profit animal welfare organization, Little Pearls. What’s more is for those who are unable to *physically* attend classes, you can livestream classes from the comfort of your home, wherever you are in the world. The classes will run every Friday from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM starting May 7 for the entire year. Check out the schedule and book your classes online.
CONTACT HIGH: A Visual History of Hip-Hop
Showcasing outside of the US for the very first time, Contact High are taking visitors on a journey through the decades. Using photographs, magazine covers, memoribilia and more, they’re encapsulating hip-hop culture and bringing it the Middle East. With over 150 images by 60 photographers, visitors are getting to take a look at a different side of our fave celebs. The subject of some of the images include Kanye West, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, and the legendary Notorious B.I.G. Aventura Parks
Dubai’s largest zipline Park have updated their park timings in the true spirit of Ramadan. The park is open from 5:00 PM to midnight and what’s more, si that they’re even offering a 20 percent discount on *all* adventure and nature packages. Families are able to indulge in some complimentary arts and crafts sessions to relax and rejuvenate before jumping back into the action. This Ramadan offer is only available until May 13 so keep an eye on your calendar!
Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown x TikTok
Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown have announced the most *exciting* partnership with none other than TikTok. With a goal to provide a platform for talented youth across the UAE, the hotel will be on the lookout for musicians, artists, designers, and dancers starting April 26. Sounds like something up your alley? Well, all you have to do is upload a video doing what you do best to TikTok and hashtag #TheUntoldStory and tag Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown et voila, you’re in the running! After they shortlist candidates, the talents will be invited to the hotel to receive a ~professionally~ shot video.
