Although two months late because of COVID, El Gouna Film Festival is finally here!

And the good news is that GFF revealed in a post that they would partner with our latest favourite social media app., TikTok, this year to elevate their celebration of cinema.

The caption read, “Having taken the world by storm, and quickly becoming one of the leading social networking platforms, we’re glad to announce that we’ll be partnering with TikTok to elevate the celebration of cinema even further for the fourth edition of El Gouna Film Festival. #GFF20 “

The 4th edition is scheduled to take place from 23 October to 31.

In the marvelous resort town of El Gouna, located on the red sea, Egypt.

What’s new at this year’s festival? 

The annual film festival, which was established in 2017, will present new voices and strives that will become a part of the development of cinema in the Arab world, specifically in the CineGouna Platform.

“Short films have their own kind of magic. At GFF, we strive to showcase all forms of cinema that enrich our fantasies and inspire our minds. That’s why we aim to keep our Short Film Competition as diverse and stimulating as possible. From all over the globe, this edition’s competition carries an impressive ensemble of short films that promise to offer our guests an unforgettable experience,” said Intishal Al Timimi, Festival Director.

This year, the festival will be showing movies from all around the world, including films from France, Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Switzerland, and a lot more!

“This year’s collection of short films is a treat to our senses, for we continue to celebrate the great and promising works of emerging and established filmmakers alike. As always, I can confidently say that I am proud of this edition’s portfolio,” said Amir Ramses, Artistic Director.

And as we support women in the film industry, Last year marked Hend Sabri, the Tunisian actress, who won best actress for her role in Noura’s Dream, and who we can’t wait to see her upcoming Netflix series.

The next film festival will be the Cairo Film Festival, which will take place from 19 November to 28 November this year.
