Dubai-based company Great Minds Event Management is bringing the Meta Film Festival to the city this winter, and we’re at the ~edge~ of our seats with anticipation. The three-day film-packed festival from the 27-29 October 2022 will be held at the VOX Cinemas, Nakheel Mall, Palm Island. This event launched by META Cinema Forum is expected to bring new blockbusters, independent, regional as well as local productions.
To our excitement, cast members and celebrities from the Arab world, Hollywood, Bollywood, and Nollywood will be making an appearance on the exclusive red carpet. So to all you movie buffs, there’s a strong chance that you can get a glimpse of your fave star on opening night (or at the after parties).
Here’s what you need to know about the Meta Film Festival…
The festival will wrap up with a closing party and awards ceremony on the 29th of October. The seven award categories include Best Arabic Feature Film, Best International Feature Film, Best Animation Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Short Film, Best Student/Youth Film, and the Film Development Fund award, a feature to discover Arab talent and promote the production of Arabic films.
Filmmakers from the Middle East and around the world can submit their local or regional content to be included in the screen schedule and awards program, helping to promote and revive the film festival culture in Dubai.

Get your tubs of popcorn ready because the Meta Film Festival is expected to screen the films across the MENA region in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, and Lebanon.
A diverse line-up of premieres, screenings, and other cinematic events will also come into the mix closer to October.
Mark your calendars because movie tickets, festival VIP passes with access to after parties, and celebrity meet and greets go on sale on October 1st, 2022.
