Our favourite food delivery application, talabat, has partnered with GreatGamers Award to release its very first-ever regional esports initiative within the Gulf. The development of gaming in the gulf has been rapidly increasing, which is why talabat sought out that opportunity to play a vital role in the growth.

Talabat Great Gamers Awards launched on 13 June and was split into 5 different categories that focused on different game genres.

These awards will give people an opportunity to vote for the nominees. Voting will close on the 6th of July, and one winner will be crowned as the ‘Great Gamer of the year.’

“We are thrilled to launch talabat’s first-ever Gaming Awards Show in the region. We are always looking to recognize and celebrate great talents within the region, and one of the areas we’ve had a keen interest in is the eSports scene” said Thijs van Dam, the regional Director of Strategic Partnerships at talabat.

“Using the app, people are able to get their meals, groceries or snacks whenever they want, and our data shows that this includes a lot of gamers who enjoy fueling up while they play.” He continued. “Players can place their orders on the app with a push of a button before their game begins, and have it delivered by the time they finish! We are very excited about this first eSports partnership and what it will bring, and to more future initiatives moving forward.”

This online food ordering company has also partnered with Redbull, UAE eSports Federation, and Techxhub, which are all contributing to bringing the vision to reality.
