Influencer and fashion icon Farah Al Hady dropped her latest fashion venture today: a vintage-inspired collection with Shein. From elegant fall dresses and sophisticated coats, to sparkling partywear, Farah spoke exclusively to Cosmo about her personal style, dream celebrity collabs, and why this capsule was inspired by and made for the Arab woman.
Cosmo: How would you describe your personal style?
Farah: My personal style is always affected by my mood. I don’t wear anything doesn’t match my mood. It literally all comes to what’s my mind on that day. That’s why I don’t have a specific style.
C: When did you first become interested in fashion?
F: I’ve always loved fashion since I was in high school – it was my passion. I spent several hours watching fashion videos on YouTube and wished to become one of those girls who collaborate with beautiful brands. What I’m doing right now is my dream.
C: Tell us about Shein’s vintage collection. Why were you so drawn to it?
F: When I first wore a vintage Shein dress in March of this year, it went viral and people loved my outfit. They were waiting everyday to see what I would wear next. The vintage dresses started selling like crazy, and I became obsessed with the whole collection. The pieces are very stylish, feminine, chic, and they work for any occasion.
C: What are your top three pieces in the collection?
F: The vintage pink organza dress, blue satin wrap dress, and black and white print jacket.
C: Why do you think this collection will appeal to Arab women?
F: This collection is inspired by Arab women and what their lifestyle. I want my pieces to be in every home, every wardrobe and every occasion, because they work for every woman whether she is a student, a mother, or a businesswoman.
C: If you could style any celebrity in this collection, who would it be and why?
F: Definitely Taylor Swift! I grew up watching and listening to her music, I’ve been a huge fan of hers since 2008, and I think she’s had a great impact on who I am today. I love everything about her, and I think she would definitely look perfect in the feminine vintage collection since it matches her style a lot.
