Dutch-Iranian artist SEVDALIZA has been coming in hot for a while. Now, she’s taken up the world by storm with the release of her latest song, Alibi, which features Brazilian artist Pablo Vittar and French artist Yseult.
The song is about female empowerment, inner strength, and the complexities of relationships in life. It also talks about women’s struggles; these queens celebrate womanhood’s resilience.
Girls supporting girls is what we are all about.
Who would’ve thought a banger like this is so fun to dance to on the dancefloor but at the same time has so much of a deeper meaning to it that you can listen and cry to it?
Since we’re all dying to know who the Persian queen is, we’ve got all the details here at Cosmo ME.
SEVDALIZA: How old is she?
Also known as Sevda Alizadeh, she was born on September 1, 1987, in Tehran, Iran, and raised in The Netherlands. She is a Virgo with excellent attention to detail and is 36 years old today.
SEVDALIZA: What is her job?
Besides being a full-time singer, she is a multidisciplinary musician heavily involved in music production, songwriting, and creative direction for her music videos. She is a social activist who is all about liberation, and she addresses social and cultural issues. She shares her experiences as an immigrant and a woman of Iranian descent.
SEVDALIZA: What are her hobbies?
Before pursuing music, Sevda was a professional basketball player. She even played for the Dutch national team, but she unfortunately had a life-changing injury.
She then shifted gears to music because it wasn’t what she had imagined for herself.
In an interview with Fact Magazine, she said, “Doing professional sports, you’re forcing yourself to do better and to give more, and that becomes your way of doing things, but it doesn’t necessarily make you happy. You’re like a robot, and you don’t know how not to do that,” she explains. “With music, I turned it around. I started following my feelings, and I had never felt like this.”
Our girl is also a writer, and her words are powerful.
