Hold on to your briefcases, because a sobering new report by BoardEx reveals that women make up for only 5% of global CEOs. Err…this is still the 21st century, right? Despite the unwavering talent, drive and resilience of women in the corporate world, it appears that the C-suite is still a bit of a boys’ club.
Closer to home, a McKinsey report shows that less than 10% of senior managers in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are women. Oh, you thought we were done? Over 85% of GCC-listed companies have zero female board members. Ouch. Seems like the glass ceiling could use a good shattering.
Thankfully, there are a number of powerhouses in the region carving out (a rather sizable) space in the Middle Eastern corporate world. So we sat down with 10 trailblazing C-suite women to get granular on their path to success. Prepare to be inspired.
