February 22nd was officially recognized as Founding Day by the Saudi government, going back to 1727, when Imam Mohammed ibn Saud founded the very first Saudi state. This day was inspired by culture and heritage, in which the government is encouraging Saudis to dress up in traditional attire. This encouragement came through the Ministry of Culture, releasing a fashion guide for this historical day, and through the General Entertainment Authority, giving free access to Winter Wonderland Riyadh and Boulevard City, if dressed in traditional wear.
Just a drive-by the Boulevard, you’d see Saudi men looking extremely ~boujee~ in their traditional thobes and King Abdulaziz Alsaud inspired shemaghs, and Saudi women looking stunning, in their dresses and burqas.
