It’s been a few months since Squid Game was released on Netflix, sending the world into what can only be described as a collective obsession. But, despite bingeing the series in one go, we’re still very much invested in all-things-Squid-Game, particularly when it comes to gossip about the second season. The latest Squid Game tidbit we’ve got our hands (or should that be ears?) on is news that one of our favourite characters could be making a return, despite being killed off in series one.

Yep, as it turns out the hit show’s creator is “brainstorming” ways to bring back HoYeon Jung, who played fan fave Sae-byeok, aka player number 67. Speaking to Deadline about his plans for the second instalment of Squid Game, and the fact that most (read: all but one) of season one’s main cast died, Hwang Dong-hyuk said: “Most of them are dead… I’ll try something to bring them back [for] season two.”

When asked about HoYeon specifically, he gave a pretty big hint, adding: “Let’s say maybe she has a twin sister, you’ll see.” In response, HoYeon herself joked, “I could change my hair colour. Let’s do a little like plastic surgery.”

As for what else we can expect from the second series, the creator revealed, “there will be more great games, that’s all I can say.” He went on, “I’m just still brainstorming and collecting the ideas for season two. I haven’t even started with the writing yet.”
