A skincare masterclass? Check. A makeup masterclass? Check. The only masterclass missing is definitely an important one, a hair masterclass. So, thank god GHD has got us covered! For our final day at Cosmotel ’22, we had GHD give us a masterclass on everything hair-related, what products to use, how to perfect the wave, how to deal with curly hair. Everything.
So here are some hacks and tricks we’ve learned during the GHD masterclass (in case you missed it.)
Hair masterclass with GHD
Using the GHD Max Straightener which is known for its immediate effectiveness, so you have to separate your hair, try to get a little bit more hair than what you usually get. It’s important to rotate the hair, in a horizontal way, to get a bigger bounce for the hair.
The amazing thing about this product is that it gives 68% more shine to the hair. If you want a smaller curl, be sure to take the hair further back instead of going in. But if you’re going for a bigger curl, be sure to curl as you go.
Wondering what the professional hairstylist’s favourite product is? She says, “For me, as a hairstylist, I need my styling to be fast. I need to know that my customers are going to have good hair and long-lasting. So, I use the GHD platinum+. You can create so many different looks, so many different styles.”
With GHD, you don’t have to keep rotating over. You can take it one sweep, go into the rich area, take it with the product then turn it 360. There, you have the perfect wave.
Hairstylists tips: You might not get it perfect the first time, but practice makes perfect. (Yup, we’re obsessed.)
An important tip that we learned during this masterclass is that if your hair has heat damage, the indicator is a little white nodule. Once your hair is damaged, it’s very important for you to protect your hair by using products. You have to know the products you’re using and understand if they’re good for your hair, or if they cause damage.
The platinum+ is the product you need for a lasting curl. The hairstylist made it clear to attendees the power of the product.
The brand’s most high-powered technology is the cordless styler. This device was worked on for 10 years by GHD, which means it’s fully functional and has everything to fit your ~material girl~ needs.
Your regular styler is the platinum+, but this styler is the one you need on the go. It has the same benefits, but the power is less.
Hairstylist tip: Turn the cordless styler on and off is always going to charge up the battery. You may not get the results you need, but leave it on and wait, you’ll get the results you’re looking for. (PS, you only need to charge it for 2 hours anywhere you want, laptop, car, etc.)
