Remember that suuuper catchy song ‘Bang Bang‘ that lived rent-free in your head throughout 2014? Well, there’s some dramz going on right now surrounding it. Two out of the three ladies who were on that track, rapper Nicki Minaj and songstress Jessie J, are currently at odds with each other because of some comments Jessie J made during an interview concerning the song.

Jessie J recounted the story of how her, Nicki and Ariana Grande collaborated on this banger (pun intended,) to Glamour:

“Max Martin wrote ‘Bang Bang,’ and Ariana had been played it, I’d been played it, and we both loved it. We just said, ‘Why don’t we both do it?’ So Ariana stayed on the second verse, I recorded the first verse, and then Nicki was played it in the studio and was like, ‘I’ve got to jump on this.’ We didn’t go to her and ask; she wanted to do it. I’ll never forget: I was in my bedroom in my flat in London, and I got sent the version with Nicki on it. I just sat at the end of my bed holding my phone, staring at the floor, going, ‘How did I land this?’ I literally felt like I’d won a competition.”

Nicki wasn’t too happy about this statement as she didn’t “ask” to get on the song. She even tweeted, “Babe @JessieJ I didn’t hear the song & ask 2get on it, the label asked me2get on it & paid me. How would I have heard the song? chiiille what am I the damn song monitor? Snoopin around for songs chile? This was said by another artist recently as well. Yallgotta stop LoveU.”

Jessie J then took to her Instagram to publicly apologise in a lengthy post. “I’m sorry I got the story wrong all these years, I was told you heard the song and wanted to be on it by someone clearly gassing me up at the label.”

There has been no response yet from Nicki’s side, however she *has* liked a shady lil’ tweet.

So…we’re guessing there won’t be a Bang Bang 2.0 collaboration?Â
