With over 1,300 nominations throughout her years of success, Queen B had one area she has yet to dominate. That is the *Oscars*.
This year, that has changed. Yoncé finally found herself on that Oscar nominee list, going from having 1,375 nominations to having 1,376 nominations.
The singer and songwriter have been previously nominated for Grammys, Golden Globes, MTV Music Awards, and many more.
What was Beyoncé’s Oscar nomination for?
Her nomination is under the category Best Original Song, in which the singer and songwriter worked side-by-side with Dixson in creating a masterpiece. The song titled Be Alive is for the movie King Richard, a biopic about the life of Richard Williams, Serena Williams’ father.
Serena Williams believed that Queen B would be the *perfect* person to create a song for the movie that honoured her father’s life. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, Serena said “when the film came out, there was no other person that could do this song except for Beyoncé. I feel like we’ve had a similar path in our lives. ”
The movie King Richard has gotten 6 nominations: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Songs, and Best Film Editing.
