Netflix’s latest dystopian hit, Squid Game, has got us all completely hooked. The Korean series only landed on the streamer recently but it’s all Twitter can talk about, and we’re not complaining. The hit series follows a group of people with big debt and financial issues, who are invited to take part in a series of children’s games to win a huge sum of money. What they don’t realise – until it’s too late – is that the consequences of losing the games are far more than they could have expected.
Honestly, has there ever been a more gripping premise?! And because we’re totally obsessed, we’ve gathered the best behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of the series, so you can keep obsessing even when you’ve binged it all.

HoYeon Jung in hair and make up
It takes a lot of work to make this cast look as dishevelled as they need to play the characters in this absolutely wild story, and luckily HoYeon Jung gave us a little insight into the process.

The cast and crew on set
It goes without saying that Squid Game is one of the most sinister shows Netflix has ever given us, so it’s nice to see the cast and crew having fun behind the scenes – meanwhile, we haven’t slept in days.

The eeriest shoes in the business
These blood-spattered plimsoles are a perfect indication of how the series makes everything so instantly horrifying.

HoYeon Jung and Yoo-Mi Lee
People pretty quickly got obsessed with ‘the women of Squid Game’ – you’ll see the phrase all over Twitter, and along with co-star Halley Kim, HoYeon Jung and Yoo-Mi Lee were absolute fan favourites.

Everyone’s favourite characters
Speaking of fan favourites, along with Halley Kim, HoYeon Jung and Yoo-Mi Lee, people couldn’t have loved Anupam Tripathi (Ali) more, so this shot of everyone’s favourites has gone down a storm with fans.

The cast waiting on set
Since the series is so relentlessly horrifying it’s quite soothing to see the cast and crew messing about on set during what looks like a fairly calm (dare we say boring?) moment.

Ali and his marbles
If you’ve seen the series, you’ll know that the marbles represent something far more sinister than how you remember them from childhood. Nice to see Anupam seeing the fun side with them though…

Shooting the Red Light Green Light scene
In one particularly horrifying moment the players take part in a game of Red Light Green Light in the midst of a huge crop field. So, it’s pretty fascinating to see how these scenes were actually shot.
