He’s talented, handsome, and trendy AF. No, we’re not gushing about your latest crush. Instead, we’ve got our heart eyes (😍) on the one and only Patrick Ta. He’s created his own legion of love in the form of a massive fan base with countless beauty junkies, celebs, and makeup artists who can’t get enough of his skills and expertise. Recently, Patrick hosted a masterclass in Dubai, and we *had* to meet up with him and find out what’s his ultimate Ramadan makeup look this year.

It’s all about the…

Monochrome. “It’s so feminine and super girly. The Holy Month is the perfect time to experiment with monochromatic Ramadan makeup looks.” So basically, all those hard fashion looks are out, and soft and feminine makeup is in? We stan.

Coming up roses

What exactly *is* monochrome makeup? We know that mono means one and chrome means colour, so are we putting only one colour on our faces? “Kinda. What you want to do is use similar shades with the same undertones across your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Right now, I am loving soft rose hues. For monochromatic Ramadan makeup, my suggestion is to use products with neutral rosy undertones.”

For the eyes

Start with Patrick’s eye tip- “I love to first use eyeshadow base followed by foundation on the eyelids. This lets the eyeshadow blend in flawlessly with the rest of the face. This is a technique you can definitely use for Ramadan makeup as well as year-round.” Follow with Patrick’s brand new Major Dimensions eyeshadow palette for the ultimate rosy-hued eyeshadow look. The palette contains seven matte shadows and five shimmery shades.

For the cheeks

It’s no secret that Patrick Ta is a huge fan of layering creams and powders. His much-loved Major Headlines Double-Take Creme and Powder Blush Duo in She’s A Doll (Dhs137, cultbeauty.com) consists of a creamy blush that melts into skin and a super pigmented and radiant powder blush.

Achieve your own monochromatic Ramadan makeup look by applying the powder blush first with a fluffy brush. Afterward, tap the cream blush with your fingertips onto the apples of your cheeks for the ultimate dewy glow.

If you’re more of a powder-only girl, try his Monochrome Moment- Velvet Blush in She’s Adorable (Dhs127, cultbeauty.com). If creams are your thing, we’re obsessed with Rare Beauty’s Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush in Nearly Mauve (Dhs120, sephora.ae).

For the lips

To finish off your monochromatic Ramadan makeup, Patrick recommends using a neutral rosy lip shade. If you love velvety matte lips (c’mon, who doesn’t), try his Monochrome Moment- Silky Lip Cremes (Dhs95, cultbeauty.com). Packed with skin-conditioning ingredients like hyaluronic acid, these long-lasting and comfortable lip cremes come in five different neutral shades to suit all skin tones.
