FitBit just announced their latest product is dropping in the region, the Fitbit Charge 4 (plus a Special Edition) and we feel like this might just be their best yet!
What’s cool about it?
Who said health and fitness has to be boring? Certainly not the Charge 4. It’s a GPS tracker, fitness partner and personal DJ all rolled into a super chic, sleek and swimproof band you can slap on your wrist. Let’s unpack…
You can now connect the device to your personalised Spotify playlist via the Connect & Control function.
Its lightweight design is comfortable for all-day (and night) wear, and features a scratch-resistant screen (cat owners – take notes).
It’s also the first FitBit tracker with built-in GPS, you can leave your phone at home.
Oh, and did we mention the battery life lasts up to a week now? *Sold*
The sleep situation
We ALL know just how important sleep is. Especially now (please just wake me up when it’s all over). But maybe not all of us know that sleep is a critical component to maintaining overall health, wellness and boosting immunity. Coming soon to you is the new ‘smart wake’ feature that uses machine learning to wake you at the optimal time. You can then get to all your Zoom meetings on time and not look like a racoon.
Even for the times you’re not moving around, Sleep Score provides deeper insights into your sleep with a daily look at the quality of your sleep all from your wrist: quickly set alarms and activate Sleep Mode to maintain routines and sleep schedules.
If you’ve been having trouble tracking your sleep pattern during the night, there’s another cool feature that might help. A sensor powers Fitbit’s Estimated Oxygen Variation Graph (which you can access on the Fitbit app) allowing you to see an estimate of the oxygen level variability in your bloodstream, which may indicate variations in your breathing during sleep.
Amp up your exercise game
Fitbit’s latest innovation, Active Zone Minutes, is a new feature that operates based on your resting heart rate and age. It tracks any workout from indoor biking to yoga, measuring the time you spend in each heart rate zone as it counts towards that weekly goal.
Earn credit for each minute of moderate activity in fat burn zone and double the credit for vigorous activity in cardio and peak zones – Active Zone Minutes does the math for you so you can quickly understand how many you need to reach your daily and weekly goals.
What is Fitbit Premium and why should I care?
Fitbit Premium, has seen some cool new updates, including programs and workouts from brands like Barre3, Down Dog and Physique 57 and even mindfulness tools or challenges.
“Since launching Fitbit Premium last year, we’re seeing positive health and wellness benefits for our users,” said Jonathan Oakes, EVP of Product & Design. “For example, users who took less than 5,000 steps per day before trying Premium took 16,000 more steps per week during the first two weeks of joining – a testament to the power of our Premium experience in improving users’ health and fitness.”
