Just hours after the government announced a 24-hour lockdown across Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, took to Twitter to share insights from his Zoom chat with other diplomats across the country.
Here’s what he wrote:
"I met Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and a number of our ambassadors. We are proud of our diplomats who have shown great efficiency in dealing with the crisis proactively.
Majority of our students and citizens abroad returned to the UAE with ease and efficiency. Those who remained abroad for exceptional reasons are receiving the necessary support. The UAE works as one team locally & abroad, and our citizens remain our top priority wherever they are.
Our message to the world: we are stronger when we are united. After this pandemic, the world will need a different kind of health, economic and political cooperation that quickly adapts to crises."
