As Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Dubai, the government has now introduced new covid measures aimed at curbing the spread of the virus in the city.

Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced the new set of measures a couple of days ago.

Can I still go to the mall?

Yes, but malls can only operate at 80% capacity and you have to adhere to social distancing rules.

Can I still go to restaurants?

Yes, but restaurants and cafes are required to close at 3 am. The restaurant capacities have been increased to 80% with the distance between tables being reduced from 2 to 1.5 meters.

Can I go to the movies?

Yes, there is now an increase in capacity to 80% at all recreational facilities, exhibitions, museums, cinemas, and tourism activities.

Are staycations even possible?

Yes, the capacity of hotels has been increased to 100%.

Can I still go to the public beach and pool?

Yes. The capacity of swimming pools and private hotel beaches are now increased to 80%.

Can I hold a social gathering?

Yes. There’s a a fresh max cap of 300 people, so if you’re planning a wedding, party or Billie Eilish listening party then you shouldn’t worry. 

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes. Face masks are mandatory when leaving the house. Gloves and other PPE are encouraged but not required. 

Is there a curfew?   

The UAE government has “announces the completion of the National Sterilisation Programme, in line with @NCEMAUAE, allowing free movement all day & night, subject to compliance to precautionary measures including wearing masks & social distancing.”

Can I still order food?

Yes, all food delivery services are running as normal.
