We’ve all been living through the coronavirus pandemic for a minute now, and as time goes on, more and more public figures are sharing their stories of contracting COVID-19. So far celebs and well-know people like Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, Bachelor alum Colton Underwood, Pink, and Prince Charles have talked about their experiences with the virus, and now we can add another name to that list: Sam Smith.
The singer opened up about him and his sister self-diagnosing themselves with coronavirus while being interviewed by Zane Lowe over FaceTime. Sam said (via People), “I didn’t get tested but I know I have it. I’m just going to assume that I did because everything I’ve read completely pointed to that. So yeah, I think I definitely had it.” He also talked about how his sister started showing the same symptoms as well, so Sam and his sister self-isolated for three weeks in order to protect their family—”I’ve got an older Nan, so we didn’t want to risk anything,” Sam added.
Sam said that they got the virus before the U.K. started getting really serious about self-isolating, and shared, “As everyone was kind of really on lockdown, that’s when I got over it, luckily.” And thankfully, Sam is feeling better now and back to working on him music, saying, “I started writing and it’s a whole different vibe. It’s amazing. It’s great.”
So glad to hear that Sam is doing okay, and can’t wait to hear the new songs!
