Seven months ago, the Arab world hit a huge milestone when it launched the Mars-bound Hope Probe into space. On July 20, 2020, the Hope Probe set off from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan, beginning the near year-long journey into space. That day marked the Arab world’s first Mars mission, and audiences worldwide have been more than excited, especially as now, the Hope Probe is closer than ever to Mars’s orbit.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed took to Twitter to countdown how close the Hope Probe is to the big day.

HH Sheikh Mohammed wrote, “We are 9 days away from the arrival of UAE’s Hope probe to Mars in the first Arab interplanetary mission. The UAE will be the 5th nation to reach the Red Planet. The probe has a 50% success rate in entering Mars’ orbit, but we achieved 90% of our goals in building new knowledge.”

Mark your calendars for February 9 as the Hope Probe will be fast approaching the Red Planet. The major event will even be livestreamed!

If you’re wondering how you can help to cheer on the Hope Probe and the Emirati engineers who have been working tirelessly for over six years, then Emojis are the answer.

Yep, emojis.

This campaign for the Hope Probe Mars Mission includes one of the easiest forms of communication, and is a perfect way for all of us to participate.

All you have to do on social media is to use the above three emoji’s in that exact order. The ‘Palms Up Together Emoji’ symbolises support and well-wishes for the success of the Hope Probe and the operations team; the ‘Rocket Emoji’ symbolises the Hope Probe; and the ‘Red Circle Emoji’ symbolises the Red Planet.

Tweet that with #HopeForHope and you (and the Hope Probe) are ready to go!Â
