Yesterday, a new milestone took place for the UAE. The Mars-bound Hope Probe successfully launched, marking the Arab world’s first Mars mission. Although there was a delay last week for the Probe to launch due to bad weather, the Hope Probe took off from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan on 20 July at 01:58:14 AM UAE Time. The first signal from the Hope Probe has been received and two-way communication has already been established.
It’s safe to say that this is a huge win for the UAE’s growing space sector. They are expected to reach Mars by February 2021, and we’re wishing the Hope Mars Mission safe travels on this journey till then.

Check out a replay of the H-2A rocket firing into a clear morning sky over the picturesque Tanegashima Space Center in Japan with the UAE’s #HopeMarsMission.
Seconds later, a vapor cone appears around the launcher as it exceeds the speed of sound. https://t.co/xxyCmibQGt pic.twitter.com/1CfHYek8AP
