At only 16, Bahraini Maryam Maher AKA, Mary Gaming, has become the first GCC-based female gamer to join an *international* Esports team. This Cosmo ME cover star is ~dominating~, and not just on the Valorant field.

Sponsored by Lenovo, the Berlin-based G2 Esports’ first-ever all-female Valorant team has welcomed their newest member, Mary Gaming. She’s also the first (and only) GCC-based female gamer on the G2 Gozen roster.

Since 2017 Mary Gaming has been showcasing her skills in video games and has made her Tier 1 debut. Only two years ago, she was the number one female Fortnite player in the MENA region. We can’t wait to see her in the big leagues now.

Who is playing alongside Mary Gaming at G2 Gozen?

The G2 VALORANT team, also known as G2 Gozen, includes some of the most successful female Esports gamers within the industry like Julia “Juliano” Kiran (Sweden), Michaela “Mimi” Lintrup (Denmark), Petra “Petra” Stoker (Netherlands), Anastasiya “Glance” Rival’evna Anisimova (Russia), and now Maryam “Mary” Maher (Bahrain).

“At Lenovo, we are proud to support G2 Esports’ first all-female roster while providing a safe and supportive community for talent based in the region, and as a GCC-based gamer. We congratulate Mariam on her first G2 Gozen roster and look forward to more women’s participation after 2022,“ the General Manager of Lenovo Gulf Mohammed Hilli expressed.

Lenovo’s continuous efforts to increase awareness and opportunities for female gamers in the region have been up and running since it hosted the first ever Legion Girl Cup in 2019 and launched the Miss Esports platform in 2020.

These events allowed young women to share their experiences, it gave them a voice and a chance to showcase their talents and leave a long-lasting impression.

Lenovo is expanding its partnership with G2 Esports to bring “some of the best gaming devices in the world into the hands of professional female gamers”. This powerful partnership between Lenovo Legion and G2 Esports takes pro gaming to the next level. Alongside exceptional talents like Mary Gaming, we can’t think of a better combination TBH.
