Tokyo Fashion Week is another major event that has been cancelled due to the continuous outbreak of COVID-19.

Crowd attendees and buyers who would have been present at fashion shows will now have to stream the runway shows and presentations online. During the entire fashion week, designers will showcase their fall 2020 collections via live streams on the official Rakuten Fashion Week website.

Although some shows are open to the general public, brands like Hideaki Yoshihara, Yukiko Odes Hyke, modern kimono supplier Jotaro Saito and streetwear Shoop will showcase their latest collections in exclusive feeds.

Tokyo Fashion Week isn't the first fashion event to be cancelled due to this pandemic. Earlier today, it was announced that the MET Gala has also been postponed indefinitely. According to Vogue, an internal email was sent out to Met staffers today announcing that the museum “will remain closed through Saturday, April 4.”
