Jamaican beauty Lesa Milan Hall is a fashion designer and entrepreneur living in Dubai with her husband and three sons. She grew up in Miami and studied at Florida Atlantic University, majoring in journalism, and minoring in fashion.
We chatted with this former beauty queen to find out what exactly she’s doing in Dubai.
She has dressed Beyonce
One thing is certain with Lesa Milan, she loves fashion. So much so, that she created her own luxury fashion brand, Mina Roe. She describes herself as kind, ambitious, and a leader. Her biggest struggle? Lesa explains that she is constantly “balancing motherhood and my entrepreneurial career without feeling guilty about time spent away from my children.”
Lesa Milan tells Cosmo ME exclusively that her “proudest career moment (so far) is that she’s dressed queen B.” This Dubai resident is super busy working on upcoming projects, especially with a fashion show in the works, and she shares that she’s “expanding her Mina Roe line from exclusively maternity to a ground-breaking inclusive label of flattering designs for all body types.”
She’s high maintenance
Lesa Milan is a self-described high-maintenance woman. She explains, “I believe in the benefits of taking good care of your skin, so I spend a lot of time and money on maintaining mine.” When we asked her what products we can find on her vanity, she tells us her go-to skincare routine includes “Shiseido cleanser, Shiseido oil-free moisturizer and Sunday Riley CEO Glow.” Her favourite beauty brand is Shiseido, and she cannot live without foundation, lip balm, and concealer.
Although Shiseido is often considered a luxury brand, this beauty tells us she loves the brand because “they make great quality products for all skin types with affordable prices.”
She’s lived in Dubai for eight years
Lesa Milan tells Cosmo that she loves Dubai because it’s “safe and full of diversity.” On a typical day in her life, you can find Lesa at the gym, “on the go with my three boys, visiting my fashion studio, and cooking a big family dinner.” When she’s out and about in Dubai, she counts “Nammos, Tips & Toes, Burj Al Arab, and the Mall of the Emirates” on the top of her list of favourite places.
She’s an observer
Think Lesa is a wallflower? Think again. Lesa shares with Cosmo ME, “people often think I’m quiet, but I’m not. I’m an observer and I reserve the best parts of myself for the people who I think deserve it. I’m really a chatterbox.” This career woman hasn’t always had life easy. She tells us she’s been rejected “many times. Rejection is a negative thing, but it can be used as fuel to make it into something positive. It’s never an easy thing to deal with rejection but I truly believe in timing and the Law of Attraction. What’s for me will always be.” Lastly, we asked her for advice for those currently struggling with self-doubt. Lesa says, “self-doubt is normal but the only way to achieve your goals is to continue pushing forward despite the doubt.”
Well said, Lesa. We will put your words of wisdom into action, like rn.
