Gigi and Zayn have finally revealed their daughter’s name (in the most lowkey possible way,) and it turns out there is actually a huge meaning behind their first child’s name. We’ve been waiting for months for the Palestinian-Dutch model and her beau to give everyone a little glimpse of their baby girl, or even her name.

And now our prayers have finally been answered! 

The Malik-Hadid couple have named their daughter ‘Khai,’ as fans figured out after Gigi Hadid changed her IG bio to add ‘khai’s mom.’ We’re in love with the unique name! It turns out that the name has a special connection to Gigi’s grandmother, and her Arabic heritage. 

TMZ reported that “Khai is named after her paternal great-grandmother on Gigi’s side of the family. Gigi’s grandmother’s name is Khairiah, and the name Khai also means ‘crowned’ in Arabic.” Other than that, Zayn’s last name ‘Malik,’ also means king in Arabic. 

According to Mohamed Hadid, Gigi ‘loved her Tata,’ so this sweet tribute is everything. 

Khai’s name may also be a lil’ dedication to her Auntie Bellz since Bella Hadid’s full name is Isabella Khair Hadid.Â
