57-year-old Willie Garson passed away last night. The star was known for his staple presence in Sex and the City, and later on, he joined the cast of White Collar. Willie played Carrie Bradshaw’s, AKA Sarah Jessica Parker’s, best friend throughout the entire SATC series, as well as the two films that came afterward. His character ‘Stanford’ was even meant to make an appearance for the HBO Max limited series And Just Like That.

Willie’s son was the first to post on social media and reveal the news. HBO and HBO Max soon followed afterward.

“Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you” Nathen Garson wrote.

HBO even captioned their post, “Willie Garson was in life, as on-screen, a devoted friend and a bright light for everyone in his universe. He created one of the most beloved characters from the HBO pantheon and was a member of our family for nearly 25 years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristina Davis have yet to speak out about Willie’s passing on social media, but Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda on Sex and the City has.

Our prayers go out to the Garson family and the SATC cast.
