Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis took to Instagram last night to confirm something the world has been hoping for since February 2004: a Sex and the City reboot is coming.
All three actresses shared the same teaser on social media, with SJP, who will be reprising her role as Carrie Bradshaw, writing, “I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now?” and using the hashtag #SATCNextChapter
The video, which showed scenes of NYC, was also shared by HBO Max, on which the series will be available, with the caption, “And Just Like That…the story continues on.”
Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) also shared the teaser on Instagram, captioning it, “You, me, New York…anything is possible.” And Kristin Davis (Charlotte) wrote on her post, “Anything is possible…. Meet you there!”
There was one person who was notably missing from the buzz of the reboot: Kim Cattrall (Samantha), who has been vocal about her decision to not return to the show, following her infamous feud with Sarah Jessica Parker.
Whilst the original series was written by Darren Star, the writer, producer and creator of Emily in Paris will not be returning to work on And Just Like That, instead, Emmy award-winning writer Michael Patrick King (who directed both feature films) will be taking over the reins.
There has been no further info about a release date, so watch this space!
