Salama Mohamed and Khalid Al Ameri are top Emirati content creators and entrepreneurs.
The married couple rose to TikTok fame making videos together, usually funny skits about their home life.
But recently, fans noticed something was off—they weren’t appearing in any videos together. After months of silence, Khalid finally shocked the fans by announcing his engagement on IG. He posted a picture of two hands sporting engagement rings.
Not long after, Salama took part in an interview with Nouraldin Alyousef. When he asked about the status of their relationship, Salama responded saying they were divorced.

During the interview, Salama was asked if she and Khalid had been struggling in their relationship before the divorce. She didn’t answer directly but later mentioned that her mental and physical health was at its lowest point.
Salama might look happy now, but last year was rough for her.
She and Khalid split up in February, and she’s been open about how tough things got at the end of last year and the start of this one.
“I was in a very dark place,” she said. “This was the first time that I reached the bottom, and I was saying, ‘I don’t know how to pull myself out of this.'”

She admitted feeling completely helpless and spent every other day in the hospital because of stress. “On the 14th, I weighed 39 kg—the average weight of an eleven-year-old.”
Salama’s been seeing a therapist since 2015, but her mental health took a nosedive last year. She was diagnosed with severe clinical depression in late September.
In the interview, Salama wished Khalid all the best, and she wished him happiness. She said, “If he is happy, we are happy. At the end of the day, if he is happy, our kids will be happy.” She adds that though she doesn’t know the state of his happiness, she hopes that he gets to the same stage of happiness that she is currently in.
