Salama and Khalid were an iconic Emirati social media couple posting funny content. They rose to the top during COVID-19 and had our hearts from the beginning.

Meanwhile, we were cozied and locked up at our homes in 2020. The couple has hit social media milestone after milestone during their time together.

Their success amassed over 3.8 million subscribers on YouTube to Salama’s skincare brand Peaceful, which promotes inclusivity and ensures skincare concerns are heard by the public.

However, they stopped making appearances and posting together as a couple a year ago, and fans were speculating if the couple had broken up after deactivating their joint account.

Salama commented on Hikmat Wehbi’s podcast, saying: “I can’t change people, but I can change people by removing them, replacing them. My energy—I have to protect it, that’s why I’m isolated 24/7.”

For nostalgia’s sake, here are the top 5 most popular content they created.

Chocolate cake gate…

In this video, Salama and Khalid discuss how they could look after their food with a simple tap on the smart fridge. It lights up, and a window appears, instead of opening it—a total NEED.

Then Salama appears to warn Khalid to stay away from her chocolate cake. Could we blame her? She’s just a girl!

It cuts to her son eating her cake, and the couple is devastated *jokingly.*

Their favourite things to do during Ramadan

The couple was asked what their fav thing to do during the Holy Month of Ramadan was, and Salama responded, “Spending time with my loved ones,” and Khalid said, “A lot of things but the food.” Smiling like a Cheshire cat from ear to ear.

Then we get a close shot of Salama giving him a bombastic side-eye.

Salama roasting Khalid as per

In this funny skit, Khalid approaches Salama about covering his “head” when referring to a spot the whole time. The skincare guru immediately tells him that as they get older, men lose hair and that no matter how much hair he loses, he is “gorgeous in her eyes always.” She’s so funny, lol.

Salama’s powerful hug

In this skit, Salama asks Khalid for a hug, and the video continues with Salama hugging him aggressively to the point that Khalid has a neck cramp.

The international law of affection

Salama and Khalid are on their phones, and as soon as she puts the phone down, she expects a kiss or a sign of affection as it is “international law.” She leaves to watch TV when he puts his phone down and does not take the hint.
