At the risk of sounding like a broken record, last week the Friends reunion episode aired and it was magical to say the least. Maybe it was simply the nostalgia and joy of seeing your fave comfort characters on-screen or seeing them all grown up just as we have, either way – it was a sight many will never forget… Especially because of some shocking revelations, namely: Ross, David Schwimmer and Rachel, Jennifer Aniston had a crush on each other IRL during the first season.

Jaw… drop… Seriously, how did they keep it a secret for *so* long? “The first season, I had a major crush on Jen,” David said to James Corden who of course, was the perfect host for this iconic reunion. Jen was quick to jump in and add that it was reciprocated.

“We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel,” said Jen. Doesn’t it all make sense now… how they had such *good* chemistry? OMG.

If you’re still wondering why they didn’t give it a go, it seems as though fate (or timing) was never on their side. “It was like two ships passing, because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that,” explained David.

“When we had breaks from rehearsal, there were moments we would cuddle on the couch. I’m thinking, How did not everyone know we weren’t crushing on each other?” added David. Naturally, in true Friends fashion – the rest of the cast, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc were quick to chime in and assure the duo that they definitely did.

Court also raised a good point in that if they did actually, ya know, become just about the hottest power couple of the ’90s and it didn’t work out, it wouldn’t have been great for everyone…

Well, I see your point Court but I’m still going to daydream about what could’ve been… and it seems as though all of Twitter is too.
