We’ve been anxiously awaiting the premiere of The Real Housewives of Dubai for what seems like f-o-r-e-v-e-r. It’s no surprise we headed to both (yes there were two and both in separate hotels) of the launch parties to celebrate the ladies on the Palm Jumeirah. We asked if they thought they would ever be involved in Bravo’s hit franchise *and* if they felt that the naysayers will have a change of heart after watching the first episode. If you live in Dubai, you know what we’re talking about.

“I think what people know is that we are who we are. We’re authentic. We’re representing ourselves and our lives. We’re women who are working hard and hustling. We’re here to inspire.”

“I actually always knew I was going to be on The Real Housewives of Dubai because I actually manifested it in 2011 when I stepped foot on the desert sand. I want everyone to know that Dubai is an amazing city. It’s a melting pot of people from all over the world with different backgrounds and different cultures. Once you see the life that we live here you’ll understand why people in Dubai are just happy.”

“As they say, I’m the first-ever housewife to cross over. Calm down people, we are not making a docuseries. This is reality entertainment.”

“If The Real Housewives of Dubai ever came to Dubai, I knew I’d be on it. Growing up watching the show, I always knew I fit into that realm. I’m from the East Coast in the US and The Real Housewives is iconic in our country.”

“I knew the way I live my lifestyle and the way I run my life, the circles I run in Dubai, that I fit perfectly into something like that. So when I was approached to do the show, I wasn’t surprised.”

“We’re going to set so many records straight, especially with a lot of misconceptions about the Middle East. People are going to get clarity on a lot of things they were confused about. I feel like, in the Western world, people have a lot of fear about the Middle East. In reality, Dubai is the new world. We’re so modern, so cosmopolitan, and so open-minded. Dubai is ever-changing and I’m excited for the world to see what Dubai is, who Dubai is, and I’m excited to see so many new people show up here.”

“I’ve always known I’d be part of The Real Housewives. I didn’t know what city. I assumed Miami because that’s where I’m from but ever since I’ve always had friends tell me that I’m the epitome of a Real Housewife. I’ve always been a super fan of the show and I’m thrilled to be on it.”

“I think people will have a change of heart after seeing the first episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai. It’s not good to judge it before seeing it. The show itself was prejudged based on the trailer. I think people’s minds will completely change when seeing it. We’re a group of friends representing ourselves and representing the city in a really positive way. We’re entrepreneurs, we’re moms and we’re having fun. People can relate to us. We cry we laugh, and the first episode is just the tip of the iceberg. People are going to love it.”
