TikTok stars Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio have been receiving major backlash recently due to a video they posted last week as a part of their Youtube series, ‘Dinner with the D’Amelios.’
The seemingly innocent video included the family and their guest star James Charles having dinner prepared by their personal chef, Aaron May. However, the controversy came when Dixie began pretending to throw up whilst eating the food (FYI they were served snails,) and Charli made a comment during the conversation about her follower count.
“I wish I had more time… Imagine if I hit 100 mil a year after hitting a mill?”
James then jokingly responded, “was the 95 [million] not enough for you?”
After the video aired, the D’Amelio sisters’ fans were not pleased with the way they were acting, and felt as though they were being very rude to the chef.

Charli and Dixie D'Amelio recently launched a series titled "Dinner with the D'Amelios," but the behavior these two displayed toward their personal chef is disrespectful.
They made disgusted faces during the episode, while their chef stood in front of them. Treat people better. pic.twitter.com/Onvlj0C8LC

Wow. After watching Dinner with the D’Amelio’s on YouTube, I feel so uncomfortable. Dixie and Charlie were so rude to the chef when he made them a delicious meal. I can’t.

Since then, Charli and Dixie have spoken out about the incident. Charli went on Instagram Live and said “you can hate on me for whatever I’ve done but the fact that all of this is happening because of a misunderstanding. I just feel like that’s not okay. If this is the community that I’ve put myself in, I don’t know if I want to do that anymore. I love every single person that supports and follows me, and I hope you guys know that.”
Dixie also replied to some comments that were left under her IG pictures and said, “I love chef and I would never disrespect him in any way, and maybe don’t judge someone’s personality over a 15 second clip.”
‘Cancel’ culture is *very* real.
