Charli D’Amelio’s break-up with Chase Hudson (Lil Huddy) has become complicated and messy over the last couple of days, but she has taken to Instagram Live to set the record straight.
For those of you who don’t know (or haven’t succumbed to the pull of TikTok during lockdown), Charli D’Amelio is a huge TikTok star with 70 million followers on the app. She was in a relationship with Chase Hudson, but he cheated on the dancing beauty with Nessa Barrett. Chase admitted his wrong doings by tweeting (and the deleting) that he kissed Nessa.
On the surface it appeared that Charli and Chase were trying to be amicable about their private lives, with Charli deleting all of her pictures of Chase from her Instagram account. But the internet, has of course done what the internet does, and Chase and Nessa have been getting a *lot* of hate online.
Although we presume that Charli is mad about the situation, she has taken to Instagram Live to address the drama directly and has made a plea to her followers to stop the hate and leave both Chase and Nessa alone. She said:
"The drama that has happened in the last few days was handled completely immaturely, myself included. It should not have happened online and it breaks my heart to see the people that I love get hate. I was extremely hurt and I felt betrayed so I did what I had to do to make myself feel better, but I know that was not the right thing to do and I will make sure that does not happen again.
I don't want to make excuses for myself and I let my twitter fingers get the best of me, which is something I never waned to do in the first place, because that’s not who I am. I never come on here and show my true emotions, it's just you guys need to know it's never OK to tell anyone to kill themselves, it's never okay to just blatantly make fun of people for them making a mistake."
Charli apologised to Chase saying that she is “very sorry that you’re getting hate. You do not deserve to be told the awful things that people are telling you to do”, and also extended the apology to Nessa.
She said that Chase will always “hold a very special place” in her heart, adding “I still love Chase from the bottom of my heart, no matter what happened”.
