Director Bong Joon Ho and his movie Parasite took home four Academy Awards this year. But nobody saw it coming when the charming director did a total Cady Heron and had the audience whipped with his speech at the Oscars last night!
In case you don't get the reference, let me save you the trouble:
Bong Joon made sure to individually address and compliment each of the other nominees for Best Director 2020: Todd Phillips, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and Sam Mendes - and it was super adorbs!
After sharing the spotlight with each, he sweeps the audience off their feet by saying: "I wish I could take a Texas chainsaw and cut this statue into five pieces and share it with all of you."
PARASITE is now the FIRST non-English film in HISTORY to win Best Picture, and the FIRST all-Asian cast to win Best Picture at the #Oscars. Bong Joon Ho is unstoppable!!! pic.twitter.com/kOEa6bE2P8— (@altonwang) February 10, 2020
His clever choice of reference is what made this iconic speech the cherry on top for all his achievements so far, and we're all for it!
