Caroline Flack, the 40-year old former X-factor and Love Island host was found dead on February 15. Her family has since released a statement to the Press Association Caroline’s passing and requested that the press “respects the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”
This news comes as a shock to many as Caroline had just returned to Instagram after her hiatus following her arrest for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton.
Less than two months ago, Caroline stepped down from hosting the winter Love Island series. after news of her arrest broke. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and trial set to begin in early March.
Lewis publicly stated that he did not support the prosecution – on Valentine’s Day, he shared pictures of both of them to celebrate the love holiday.Â
Lewis is yet to comment on the news of her tragic death, however, former Love Island stars have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the late presenter.
