Once upon a time Drake said “Me and my friends, we got money to spend” and the man was NOT exaggerating. Your favorite emo rapper is the definition of rich, and he’s made cash in lots and lots of ways. And by the way, if you’re thinking now would be a good time to make a “started from the bottom now we’re here” reference, you WOULD BE CORRECT.
Pretend the snowflakes are money, and the GIF is way more accurate.
First Up, Drake’s Music Sales
Yeahhh, so according to RIAA, the dude is literally the top selling artist ever when it comes to digital single sales. As in, he’s earned a whopping $142 million (approx Dhs522 million). That’s more than Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry. In terms of actual album sales, he’s taken home another $16.5 million (approx Dhs61 million).
On the one hand, great job Drake:
On the other hand, this is me analyzing my finances / general life choices RN:
NEVER FORGET DEGRASSI
In case you forgot—and if so, how could you?!?!?!—Drake played Jimmy on Degrassi. You know, Jimmy? Anyway, Drake didn’t earn much money for the role, but it still had an impact on his finances in a major way. “My mother was very sick,” he told Complex back in 2011. “We were poor, like broke. The only money I had was coming in off of Canadian TV, which wasn’t much money when you break it down. A season of Canadian television is under a teacher’s salary, I’ll tell you that much.”
But please note that Drake is still cashing his very small residual checks from the show, LOL:
Reminder: He Has a Clothing Brand
Drake is one of the backers of the label October’s Very Own (OVO), and they are doing extreeeemely well. In fact, Business of Fashion reports that the brand is expected to reach $50 million (approx Dhs184 million) in revenue this year. Drake doesn’t pocket all of this, of course, but he takes home a nice chunk!
And He’s Not Too Cool for Endorsements
Drake has worked with brands like Apple, Nike, and Sprite, and he’s made crazy amounts of money in the process. Most brands keep the details of their celeb collabs locked up, but Drake was rumored to have signed a $19 million (approx Dhs70 million) deal with Apple alone. Meanwhile, here’s his somewhat nerdy Sprite commercial, bless him:
Finally, Let’s Talk About His Mansions
Not only does Drake own an $8 million (approx Dhs30 million) home in Los Angeles with a huge pool, he’s building a place, or should I say *a palace*, in Toronto, which he purchased for $6.7 million (approx Dhs25 million):

Unless the housing market crashes, these homes add a tidy $14 million (approx Dhs52 million) to the rapper’s net worth. Which…omg. I don’t own anything!
On That Note, What *Is* Drake’s Total Net Worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, that would be $120 million (approx Dhs441 million). Read it and weep, and I mean that literally because I am indeed crying right now.
