Although the Cosmotel is over, we’re still reeling from the 6 whole days of information that we were blessed with by various key speakers. Brands like Benefit Cosmetics, Charlotte Tilbury, and Kroma Drama taught us new makeup looks, and Kiehl’s joined in on Day 6 to give us the *ultimate* skincare secrets.
Cosmo MEÂ spoke to Maya Zeeny, the regional education manager at Kiehl’s on all things skincare, and how we can keep our skin lookin’ plump & pretty during Ramadan. Maya started off by telling us that the best way to take care of your skin during Ramadan, is by making sure your lifestyle is also set. You’ve got to:Â
1. Compensate for the water you don’t drink while fasting, so after iftar you should be drinking 3 litres a day.Â
2. Eat smart and eat well. Focus on 3 main vitamins – avocado, broccoli, orange & lemon. Try to incorporate those into your skincare, or your diet.Â
3. Sleep well. 4 enemies that your skin may face is sun, smoke, stress, and sleep. So make sure you stay well-rested!Â
It’s also important that to take care of your skin during Ramadan, you’ve got to use specific products that suit your skin type and your skin concerns (it’s a good thing that Kiehls’ range is so wide they’ve got us covered.) During the Holy Month, you should focus on moisturising, especially since the climate is already getting warmer. (Cymbalta) Â
You shouldn’t forget your SPF either (as Maya stressed.) And when it comes to whether or not you should be masking more, or less, during Ramadan – the answer was obvs masking more (yay!) Daily, you can use a hydrating mask 5 times a week, and for pore-minimising masks, 1-2 times a week should have you covered.Â
As long as you follow this advice, you’re good to go for the rest of the month!Â
