Their cute packaging, quirky name, and bomb AF ingredients list made us ask, just what *exactly* is Holifrog all about? And wth situational skincare *actually* is…
We recently chatted with Holifrog co-founder, Majeed Hammet, who told us the idea behind Holifrog stems from the fact that “skincare doesn’t begin and end once you’ve figured out your skin type.” To be fair, we’ve noticed that our skin takes as many twists and turns as Ye’s love life so we’re thinking that Holifrog might just be onto something.

First things first, what’s with the name, Holifrog?
Maybe it was a lil’ bit rude on our part, but before we dove into our chat we had to address the pink elephant (ok, 🐸) in the room. Why is this brand called Holifrog? It sounds so ~aquatic~.
Majeed explained, “Frogs have thin skin. It’s so soft and permeable that it absorbs everything in its surroundings. As a result, they can’t survive in toxic environments. Scientists even study them to monitor pollution levels. Our skin is thicker than frogs, but we live in toxic environments too, filled with free radicals and questionable air quality. Even the thickest skin needs to take care of itself. We as humans can determine what we put on our skin when our cute frog friends can’t.” Fair enough, and ngl, we kinda love it.
Situational skincare
We couldn’t decide if situational skincare was a marketing term or actually had some juice behind it. “HoliFrog’s philosophy of situational skincare means using the right products depending on your skin’s current situation. Each individual’s skin has different needs depending on that day, the time of day, environmental stressors, geography, climate, life changes.” So essentially, on a day after wearing a full beat, you might want to treat it differently than on a day post-dune bashing and getting some sun? Makes sense to us.
“It’s about taking care of your skin’s needs as they come up and they can change daily so you should tailor your routine accordingly. It’s good to have the right serums, moisturizer, and a wardrobe of cleansers with different properties, strengths, benefits, and consistencies to benefit the skin’s health.”
We can buy into this whole ~situational skincare~ thing.
