There are few things that make us as happy as getting exciting beauty brands launching in the Middle East. For *years* we’ve admired Dr. Dennis Gross skincare from afar, wondering how it’d work its magic on our complexions. At the very end of 2022, a Christmas wish came to us in the form on a notification that this innovative skin brand was coming to Dubai. We met up with the doctor’s better half, his wife Carrie, to get the scoop on what to expect *and* to get a lil New Year routine.

A lil’ about the brand
First thing first, Dr. Dennis Gross is a dermatologist, researcher, and chemist. He created a clinical skincare brand in 2000 with Carrie to “deliver science-backed products with immediate and long-term results for all skin types.” Today, his brand contains the iconic Alpha Beta, Advanced Retinol + Ferulic, Hyaluronic Marine, and DRx SpectraLite collections, and the new Vitamin C Lactic range.

Arguably one of the most well-known Dr. Dennis Gross products, the Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel (Dhs70, sephora.ae) contains a combination of five alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids to “balance the skin, strengthen the skin barrier, build collagen, and keep your pH intact.” This two-step radiance-boosting peel smooths fine lines and diminishes the appearance of pores. Use it morning or night and be sure to always wear sunblock during the day.
Hyaluronic Marine Meltaway Cleanser
Made for all skin types, the oil-free Hyaluronic Marine Meltaway Cleanser (Dhs116, sephora.ae) is the “perfect first step to your double cleansing routine. Use it with a cotton round to dissolve makeup, dirt, and oil without compromising and stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier. The cleanser is hyaluronic acid-based with antioxidant-laden marine algae, nourishing glycerin, calming watermelon, and redness-reducing cucumber” and doubles as a hydrating face mask.”
All Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense SPF 30
“We worked really hard in creating the All Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 (Dhs162, sephora.ae). This physical sunblock can be used on all skin types. We believe you have to love your sunscreen otherwise you won’t use it.” The sunblock’s texture is lightweight and non-greasy. It protects against UV, photoaging, pollution, and blue light while also nourishing skin with renewing antioxidants.
Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Texture Renewal Serum

This serum contains a special blend of retinol, bakuchiol, rambutan, and ferulic acid to build collagen, even our skin texture, and tone, and brighten the complexion.
