Girlypops, Disney is bringing back the iconic mother-daughter duo Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan for “Freaky Friday 2.”

In March of this year, Lindsay confirmed on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live that the sequel to the iconic film is in the works. This confirmation comes after celebrating the beloved film’s 20-year anniversary and amidst speculation about its return last year.
“I don’t want to say too much; we’re both excited! I’m going to speak for Jamie,” she said during the interview.
On Tuesday, Disney Studios posted a cute picture of the returning Colemans, and the caption said that the sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production.
When will Freaky Friday 2 be released in the UAE?
Freaky Friday 2 will be released in 2025. There is no specific date yet, but keep an eye out for some BTS and trailers.
What is Freaky Friday 2 about?
So what we found out is that the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) shared a casting call stating that Tessa Coleman (Curtis) will get her life’s wish of having grandchildren and that Anna Coleman (Lohan) has two 14-year-old daughters named Harper and Lily, who will try to stop a wedding between her mother and British restauranteur Eric.
But here’s a twist, besties: We found out that Tessa and Anna will be trading places with Anna’s daughters, making them an even more iconic duo.
Who’s returning to Freaky Friday 2?
Besides Jamie and Lindsay, several members of the OG cast are coming back hotter than ever with the likes and longtime favs that have their schedules booked and busy for the sequel including Chad Micheal Murray (Jake AKA Anna’s crush), Christina Vidal (Maddie, Anna’s bestie), Mark Harmon (Ryan), Stephen Tobowlosky (Mr. Bates), Rosalind Chao (Pei Pei), and Lucille Soong (Pei Pei’s mother).
Who’s new in Freaky Friday 2?
We have NEWS for you, girl: Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who played Devi Vishwakumar in Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, and Manny Jacinto, who played Jason Mendoza in NBC’s The Good Place, are joining the star-studded cast. (As far as we know, more is yet to be revealed.)
