TikTok teams up with UNHCR to support refugees this Ramadan

Covid-19 is impacting everyone across the globe, and displaced refugee communities could be some of those hit hardest. TikTok has teamed up with The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to help raise money to sustain its increased emergency response efforts, and it’s super simple and uplifting.

This is the bit where you can help! TikTok has launched the #everygiftcounts challenge to raise funds up to $200,000 USD across the holy month of Ramadan. Each original video posted with the tag will mean $2 USD is donated to the cause, and $0.1 USD is donated for every view of #everygiftcounts content.

Some of our fav regional content creators including Balquees Fathi, Karen Wazen and Yara have shared inspiring videos with the tag #EveryGiftCounts to help those in need this Ramadan and also give everyone a lil boost of positivity (which we can never have enough of!).

Funds raised by the challenge will contribute towards helping UNHCR programmes in support of refugees across MENA and can provide essential financial help and support throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. So the hour we spend scrolling on TikTok every day can actually help people? Sign us up!
