Each day, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) shares coronavirus updates from across Dubai, and last night the organization announced that, for the first time, we had a drop in cases.

There were 490 confirmed cases on Monday 27, compared to the day before, which saw the number at 536.

Residents of the emirate were quick to comment on the good news, sharing well wishes and hopes that the virus will soon pass. “Alhamdulillah,” one follower wrote. “Less new cases and more healings. Hope this the our bright future virus-free soon.”

“الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ – this too shall pass,” wrote another person.

This week, the Dubai government also announced the easing of restriction of movement, meaning people are now allowed to leave their house without permits, and exercise is also permitted outside for one to two hours. The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates have also partially reopened, with shops, restaurants and cafes running at 30% occupancy.

Stay safe!
